  2. List your desired outcomes. With your definition of wellness, identify the points that you want to change. With the earlier example, your desired outcomes can be to follow a healthy meal plan, enrol for a yoga class, etc. These detailed steps will form daily habits that eventually become lasting lifestyle changes.
  3. Know your motivation. What is driving you to move towards your wellness goals? Does seeing a wellness coach motivate you to start living healthy? Whatever your motivations are, these will push you to continue striving towards your goal.
  4. Identify potential obstacles. The road to any goal is littered with obstacles and it is important to recognize what could stand between you and your wellness goal. If you tend to eat more when you’re depressed or if you’re prone to bouts of laziness, note these down.
  5. Develop strategies to conquer obstacles. After you’ve identified what can keep you from your goal, create and implement realistic strategies to help you overcome them. If you’re prone to stress-eating, keep healthy snacks within reach. If you have more energy in the morning, schedule your exercises during that time. Also know that the occasional mistake is okay. The important thing is that you get up, learn from the mistake, and stay on track.
